School Camps

Are you wondering where on earth to base your next school camp?
If you’re looking for high-energy adventure activities, your group will love Epworth’s thrilling water slide and large swimming pool. Send them soaring through the air on the flying fox, or navigating the river on one of our many kayaks. Set up a friendly game of cricket or touch on our huge, flat lawns, or release some excess energy in the indoor gymnasium.
In addition to its ample camping areas, Epworth can comfortably accommodate 170 people in indoor accommodation.
Large school and youth camps are easily accommodated, while the organizers have a place to relax and enjoy themselves away from the hustle and bustle of the group.
Our modern kitchen facilities are clean and spacious, and we have catered or self-catering options.
Most activities on site can be run by groups booking the camp with either adult supervision or providing their own instructors.
If you prefer not to organise all the activities yourselves and want to take the stress out of running your school camp activities then take advantage of our outdoor educators who can work with your group to provide instructors for either high risk activities only or organise your whole programme.

There are also plenty of off site activities and experiences to discover locally. Base your group at Epworth and visit various venues within the WAIKATO to incorporate into your school programme including Dam tours, Karapiro high ropes course, nature walks and more.
We also collaborate with the Maungatautari Ecological Island Trust to offer a unique nature experience which includes a classroom session and a guided walk through the fenced Maungatautari sanctuary.
